The most complete guide to organize your trip to Russia after international sanctions

OPTION 3. How to travel to Russia without a visa (visa-free)

The vast majority of foreigners traveling to Russia require a visa to enter the country, however, there are about 60 nationalities which are not required to have a visa to enter Russia.

Mainly it is about the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (former countries of the USSR) and countries of South and Central America, although there are also some European, Asian, African and Oceanian countries that do not require a visa.

These are countries with good diplomatic relations with Russia and that have visa waiver treaties with Russia.

In the articles in this section of the blog I give details of the conditions of this visa exemption, as well as the requirements and documentation.

Lastly, it should be noted that cruise passengers from any country in the world who arrive in Russia do not need a visa for a stay of up to 72 hours, but under certain conditions that I explain in detail in this Guide to travelling to Russia on a cruise.
